Evolution of Strategies programs over the last thirty years
- Strategies was originally funded by the California Office of Child Abuse Prevention in 1990 to elevate the family strengthening field by providing training, coaching and technical assistance to professionals and organizations throughout California.
- In 2010, OCAP and Strategies begin to host conversations and trainings throughout California to promote the Strengthening Families and Five Protective Factors initiative.
- In 2016, OCAP funded Strategies 2.0. Its focus was on training, technical assistance to counties and the development of regional learning communities to promote child abuse prevention by building resilient children, families and communities.
- In 2020, Strategies TA was funded by OCAP. The current focus is to provide technical assistance to support counties in the development and implementation of comprehensive, evidence based, child abuse prevention plans.
